Approach and Background

My approach is warm, direct, and relational. I believe that building a strong and honest therapeutic relationship is the root from which genuine, positive and sustainable growth stems. I thoughtfully work to create a trusting and affirming space that encourages self-exploration and discovery and empowers clients to connect to and build on their intrinsic strengths and capacity for change.

I practice from a systemic and non-pathologizing understanding of each client. My work is grounded in attachment and trauma-based theories, and I draw upon elements of evidence-based and creative and expressive therapies to tailor therapy to the unique needs, interests and treatment goals of each client.

My work extends beyond the therapy office. I believe in the healing power of the human-animal connection, and I provide animal-assisted therapy at Constanta Wellness, a practice operated at Safe Haven Farms, an animal sanctuary in South Jersey. I have also facilitated groups and volunteer at retreat camps across the country through Hope Loves Company, a non-profit that serves the children and teens caregivers of family members with ALS.

I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Middlebury College in 2015 and my master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan School of School Work in 2019. I have experience working with kids and teens in various mental health settings, including through New York and New Jersey-based non-profit social-emotional wellness programs and through Michigan Medicine’s Department of Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry.
